Foire Aux Questions

Prices, registration, capacity

The number of places is limited.

Every Monday, we post a news item on the home page of our gennetines.org website giving information about the remaining places.

We advise against short stays. A short stay does not allow you to take full advantage of the meetings, participate actively in the organisation or appreciate the philosophy. However, you can choose the length and dates of your stay, the only constraints being respect for our organisation and capacity.

Two things are to be distinguished :

  • the membership can not be cancelled
  • the tickets can sometimes be reimbursed (it occurs rarely, for example in the case of an accident or illness, on presentation of a medical certificate)

“sharing my experience and efforts” is the wording suggested to join the association. In broad terms, it means not coming as a consumer, but helping us to bring the meetings to life, by making suggestions or taking part in certain activities alongside our organising team.

the postcode box only accepts figures. We suggest to put a 0 in that box and to write your postcode in the city box (in french “ville”) before your city.

The tickets are personal (your name appears) and to be used on a specific day.

When you arrive in Gennetines, at the reception desk, you will have to show us your tickets, your booking email (mail de réservation) and an identity card in the case of one-day purchases, or only the reservation e-mail (with your order number) and an identity card for the 15 days pass.

We will give you your first bracelet and if you bought some, your meal and drink tickets.

Then, every day, we will change your bracelet after checking the QR code on your ticket for the day.

Please note that mobile phone connection is often impossible on our site (poor network coverage).

So you can either print out your tickets or save them on your mobile phone.

Your meal and drink tickets are to be seen in your booking email (mail de réservation)

When you arrive in Gennetines, at the reception desk you will have to show us this email, your tickets and your identity card.

We will give you your first bracelet and if you bought some, your meal and drink tickets.

When the tickets are on the screen, do as if you want to print and save as a pdf document.

The person selling the tickets must contact us by e-mail, giving the references of the tickets and the contact details of the person to whom they are selling the tickets (address and telephone number).

The person buying the tickets must first become a member of the association on the ticketing website, then contact us by email, giving their membership number and the references of the tickets bought and paid for directly.

We do not handle money matters for exchanges.

The fifteen-day pass is indivisible.

There are no price changes for exchanges. Please check your age against the price list.

Tickets are personal and dated (QR code and ID will be checked).

Accomodation – Camping site, car parks

Our camping sites are large enough to receive all the people who have registered for the Grand Bal de l’Europe; we do not make reservations for the space on the camping sites neither before nor during the meetings. Participants choose an available spot when they arrive in Gennetines. The camping sites will open on July 25th.

Yes, under certain conditions.
For safety reasons, it is forbidden to sleep or eat in the car parks.
To avoid getting bogged down in wet weather, some spots are only accessible to heavy vehicles. For light vehicles, other spaces are provided on the camping sites.
We can advise you on your arrival.. You can watch the video Gennetines 2023 organisation organisateurs.

Our camping sites have little shade. So that as many people as possible can rest in the shade, it will not be possible to set up tents, caravans or vehicles along the hedges in the two camping areas. These shaded areas will be accessible to all for resting.

There are pitches for camper vans on our camping sites.
There are no electricity points or facilities for filling up your camper van’s tank, and we invite you to use our sanitary facilities as we have no place to dispose of waste water.

A specific site for camper vans exists at 15km from Gennetines. You can find more information with this link :  Aire d’accueil et de services – Moulins (allier-auvergne-tourisme.com)

We do not rent tents. We suggest you leave a message on the Facebook page of the Grand Bal de l’Europe self-managed by participants : https://www.facebook.com/groups/20956314212/

We don’t have any accommodation other than our camping site in the direct vicinity of the dance site.
Other types of accommodation are located a few kilometres away and are difficult to access without a car. You can consult this link.
What’s more, we don’t organise carsharing between Moulins and Le Grand Bal. All we can say is that dancers can sometimes live at very different hours and it may be difficult to find a dancer in the same accommodation with the same hours…

Meals

There is a wide choice of starters and desserts, and the main course often consists of meat or fish,  starchy food (sometimes containing gluten) and a green vegetable.
Meals are not specially designed for gluten intolerants, allergy sufferers or vegans. Menus are posted in advance to make it easier for you to organise your meal.
Shopkeepers are on hand every day if you want to get your supplies and make your own meals.

Miscellaneous

Mobile phones can be recharged at the instrument storage room for half a drink ticket. A self-service recharging facility is available near floor 7 for phones and computers. No computer storage in the instrument storage room.
There is no WIFI on site and the network for mobile phones is almost non-existent.

There is no registration for a particular workshop. You buy an entry ticket for the day and you can choose on the spot without having to register in advance. You can visit the floors of your choice throughout the day.
